what the fuck is going on with brazil? why have I not heard of this?

The first I heard about this was a very short bit on BBC news this morning. Someone is not doing their job properly.

People want to keep it quiet because the Olympics and World Cup are going to be there. God forbid we know the truth of the host country. Nope, gotta make sure it looks good so the games are not revoked and people are too scared to go.

In fact some of this is induced by the Olympics and World Cup, because the government has money for that crap but not for what their people need. So they are increasing taxes to pay for those shitty events.
